The premise of The King Is Alive (2000) is that a busload of tourists are stranded in an abandoned mining town, so they logically decide to pass the time by staging King Lear. This bizarre production is one of the more popular examples of the Dogme 95 school of filmmaking, based on strict rules involving handheld cameras, natural lighting and no credit for the director (although everyone always seems to know who directs these things). To your pals at Skin Central, though, this mainly means that there’s beautiful natural lighting on non-dogs like Jennifer Jason Leigh and Janet McTeer.
