The Killer (2024)

35 years later, John Woo decided to remake what some consider his best film, the 1989 gun fu drama about an assassin taking one last job to help an unintended victim of his violence. This version moves the events from Hong Kong to Paris, where Nathalie Emmanuel plays the loyal Zee, who’s ordered by her handler Finn (Sam Worthington) to go to a nightclub and take out a whole bunch of baddies. In doing so, she accidentally blinds a singer named Jenn (Diana Silvers), and instead of killing her to tie up loose ends, she teams up with an inspector named Sey (Omar Sy) to protect her. Nathalie is able to pull off some amazingly deft moves in a tight black dress as she murders people, while Diana nips out at the nightclub where she gets caught in the crossfire. There may be no nudity, but The Killer may make you a spiller just the same!
