Soho Square (2000)

There is no crime in harboring a burning love for a woman, or for women in general, unless of course that fiery passion leads a guy to actually immolate the objects of his fixation. A half-useless London detective is the lead cop in Soho Square (2000), charged with the task of bring to hand a serial pyromaniac whose greatest ambition seems to be to reduce perfectly serviceable young ladies to a charred mess. The booze-sucking, melancholic dick stumbles through a circuit of Soho clubs, imbibing for clues in each and every one. He makes the hazy acquaintance of a comely but doomed barmaid. Her forsaken appeal pulls him back toward a murky pain from his past. At the same time, the sultry and too-soon-slain booze slinger draws the investigator step by step closer to the flame-throwing perpetrator.
