In the German faux documentary September (2003), eight people from different cities and classes bond together over the brutality of September 11th. Intercut with live footage from the dreadful day, the charismatic characters show how the collective shock provided a major jolt for both individuals and society on a global level. Amidst the tragic atmosphere of the film, Deutschland dish Stefanie Stappenbeck does her part for world piece by flashing her beaming headlights as a pleasant diversion from the upcoming events of the dark day.
