There’s more than poutine in Canada -- there’s opportunity. That’s what 23-year-old Nikhil (Ranjit Chowdhry) is thinking when he relocates there from India under the wing of his uncle, who’s taken up residence in Toronto in Sam and Me (1991). But instead of downing Molsons and partying hearty to Rush, Nikhil finds himself developing a meaningful relationship with the elderly Jewish man for whom he has become a caretaker, creating divisive family dynamics.
