Titanic (1997) costars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio reunite for Revolutionary Road (2008), a 1950s-set dissection of suburbia from Kate's director husband Sam Mendes. But gone are the days of naked drawings and steamy sex sessions filled with grabbing T&A inside a Model T. Instead, Leo and Kate are a faltering duo whose marriage is a bit of a dud and whose dreams are constantly being dashed. Leo is Frank Wheeler, a salesman living in 1950's Connecticut with his failed actress wife April (Kate Winslet). With their life faltering, they're all set to pack up and move to Paris. But Frank gets promoted, April gets knocked up, and despite being miserable the plan to head to Paris is derailed. Only a neighbor's son straight out of the looney bin (Michael Shannon) is able to tell the truth about what's going on with our couple, but by the time he does it's way too late. This is their depressing life, now, and it's not going to be any different anytime soon. Adapted from a novel by Richard Yates, Revolutionary Road depicts the deadly doldrums of middle-class marriage in a way that shatters any romanticized notions you might have had about life as a 1950's housewife. Both members of our married couple stray from their marital constraints a couple times, but it's Frank Wheeler who got the better end of the deal. Frank does the stereotypical thing and rails his secretary after a long day of work, which lets us get a good look at Zoe Kazan.Zoesparks some heat as Leo's mistress, providing a peek at her teats and tush after a sex scene. Oh, to travel that road! Even with two of the hottest people on earth, married life in suburbia ends up being a bore until the secretary lets you score in Revolutionary Road.
