Rencor (2002)

Spanish pop star Lolita made a credible crossover into acting, nabbing a Goya Award for her performance in Luis Miguel Albaladejo’s Rencor (2002). Lolita plays a vengeful young woman who becomes determined to enact revenge on her ex (Jorge Perugorria) for abandoning her and shacking up with the feisty Esther (Elena Anaya). The sassy Miss Lonelyheart hatches a complex but brilliant scheme for bringing the poor schlub to his knees. It’s a real shame, because all the evidence indicates that he was having a bash with Anaya--from puffing ganja to beachside boffing, the Casanova shows he knows how to satisfy the ladies.
