Red River (2011)

Hicksploitation shocker Red River (2011) pulls no punches when it comes to nudity, violence, and mutant cannibal rednecks. The scenario is a familiar one: a group of hard-partying young people head off into the woods for a decadent weekend of drinkin’, swimmin’, and fornicatin’, ignoring the locals’ warnings that people who go into them woods ain’t been comin’ back. Soon enough nutjob religious fundamentalist Roland Thatcher (a gloriously hammy David Haney) crashes the party. Roland has a fertilizer business to keep up and a deformed son named Hamburger Head to feed, and damned if these campers ain’t the solution to both of his problems.

Southern starlets Megan Marie Wilson, Misty Simmons-Poteet, and Ronica Jones display their ample natural assets throughout Red River. The film’s nudity starts with an innocent skinny dip but soon takes a darker turn. When Roland catches Megan and her man committing sins of the flesh in the woods, he kills the stud on sight but keeps Megan alive for his own perverse purposes. She and Misty spend a majority of the film topless and screaming in cages, and Ronica becomes an unwilling tissue donor in one memorably sick scene. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for the skingoria aficionado, Red River delivers.
