Review

A group of young professional Parisians fall in and out of love in Portraits chinois (1996). Ada (Helena Bonham Carter) works as a clothing designer, and has a strained relationship with her boyfriend, Paul (Jean-Philippe Écoffey), a screenwriter. Their troubles are compounded when Ada’s co-worker, Lise (Romane Bohringer), delvelops an infatuation for Paul, one that he seems to return. The relationship comes to a breaking point when Lise is given a coveted job  with famous designer Rene (Jean-Claude Brialy), and Paul tries to wins Ada’s love back by writing a film about the experience.Emmanuelle Escourrou bares her buttery croissants for this flick, playing a woman with a ravenous sexual appetite. Those tête-à-tête’s will have you saying au revoir to your pants!
