Picking Up the Pieces (2000)

Picking Up the Pieces (2000) is one of those rare movies that stars Woody Allen, but was neither written nor directed by him. He plays a guy who kills his ditzy promiscuous wife, Sharon Stone, by hacking her to pieces. When her hacked-off hand is discovered and believed to work miracles, it is assumed that this is the hand of the Virgin Mary. Though the local priest is aware of the truth, he keeps his mouth shut to exploit the mass pilgrimages to his otherwise sparsely attended church. Oddly, the hand does create miracles, such as turning the small-breasted women into torpedo-topped bust-oids. As sexy as the proceedings get, there is no real nudity. And that’s a real shame.
