Permanent Midnight (1998) is based on a memoir by Jerry Stahl, who was most famous for being a writer on Alf before he got famous for writing about being a writer on Alf. Oh, he was also a heroin addict. Which is why Ben Stiller was cast as the lead because he is the kind of action that makes viewers think immediately of sticking themselves with sharp objects. So there’s that. But there’s also this, by which we mean them, by which we mean hers: Elizabeth Hurley and Mario Bello. The former gets down to her underwear, but the latter is boobalicious, which makes us hungry for another fix.
