Success can have its downside. Take the full and frenzied career of regal blonde Patricia Carr. Once an erotically charged leading presence in Italian films that have since been allowed to lapse from her resumé, sublimely Limey Carr had reached that juncture in her performing career that leads many ambitious actresses down the avenue of naked emoting. Rather than take the path to skinmortality, Patricia refastened her bra and stepped behind the camera. In one production capacity or another, she has helped bring more than one hundred films to the screen. Comely Carr had a lovely hand in Superman (1978), Star Wars (1977), Day of the Jackal (1973), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1980). Too bad she's so good at what she does. Luckily she wasn't quite finished with helping us finish. In American Gigolo (1980) you see Patricia's twin patty cakes while Richard Gere gives her a rubdown. If you, like us, feel slightly disappointed in Carr's disappearance from the scene it's a totally normal feeling. Someone with the potential of Patricia should never have to languish in the land of the fully-clothed. Her final credit was on the hit show The Love Boat. It's unfortunate that her udders didn't make more appearances onscreen!
