A movie doesn’t need to be awash in explosions, avalanches, car chases and helicopter rescues to create stunning special effects. Not Like Us (1995) manages to impart a spike in adrenaline and a twist in the gut the low-budget way--with nudity, sex under duress and gobs of gore. A tale of a tricky and perverted brother-and-sister team of aliens who surreptitiously invade and gruesomely depopulate a hick town by employing loose booty wiles, narcotic stupefaction and experimental surgery, Not Like Us never loses sight of being a comedy at heart. Just be prepared to gag while you guffaw.
