Not Another Happy Ending (2013)

One needs only to look at the personal and professional lives of Sylvia Plath, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Tennessee Williams, and Arthur Rimbaud to know writers often suffer from depression. If they were happy, would they have been so creative? This notion is explored in the indie flick Not Another Happy Ending (2013). The British rom-com centers around Scottish author Jane Lockhart (Karen Gillan) who becomes an overnight sensation due to her wildly successful new book. As such, fame brings her happiness — as well as extreme writer’s block! This puts her publisher Tom Duvall (Stanley Weber) in a precarious position. Not only does he want to motivate her to write, he’s falling in love with her. Of course, all it takes is just one look at the babe’s red locks and it’s easy to see why the guy is so smitten. The movie also includes Iain De Caestecker, Freya Mavor, Amy Manson, Gary Lewis, Kate Dickie, and Ms. Gillan’s glutes! Thankfully, we are treated to a phenomenal shot of Karen’s nude caboose. Yes, the alluring actress sheds her threads when her character tries to get some writing done in the buff! The sexy sight might give some viewers their own happy ending. However, some of us may feel a bit disappointed because Karen’s tresses (and a few strategically placed cupcakes) obscure her bare breastess. The Times described the film as being “cloyingly perky” and Mr. Skin agrees since he’d love to see Karen’s perky pair if it weren’t for her long hair!
