The life and career of legendary dancer Vaslav Nijinsky is chronicled in the biographical drama Nijinsky (1980). Nijinsky (George de la Peña) is a young dancer and aspiring choreographer in the Ballets Russes who is managed by his controlling lover/mentor Sergei Diaghilev (Alan Bates). Their love becomes a triangle when a new prima ballerina, Romola de Pulsky (Leslie Browne), joins the ballet with the intent of seducing and marrying Nijinsky.
