Convinced that his country is on a steep and perilous decline, a self-styled social reformer decides to set offenders straight through aggression and violence in the savagely satirical mockumentary Muxmäuschenstill (2004). Jan Henrik Stahlberg plays Mux, the frighteningly committed activist who’s willing to go far past a simple citizen’s arrest. When it comes to creeps, freaks, and murderers, in fact, the vigilante’s payback is quite scary. Director Marcus Mittermeier delivers his sly social commentary with robust humor, and it doesn’t hurt that his cast is easy on the eyes. Even with a body double, Milena Dreißig gets pretty immodest, while bombshell Kathrin Spielvogel is quick to shimmy out of her lingerie.
