In the German crime comedy Mr. Bluesman (1993), a talented musician can’t convince audiences he’s a hip bluesman, but he does manage to persuade the mob that he needs to be rubbed out. Thomas Heinze plays Spike, the unsuccessful musician who gets caught up in sordid activity when his bombshell ladyfriend (Deborah Falconer) tangles with a crime syndicate. The whirlwind chase that ensues takes the couple from Milan to Cologne and Rome and even puts them in touch with real-life blues legend B.B. King. Even better, the delightful Falconer appears to get an erotic charge out of danger, stopping occasionally to bonk her boyfriend before hitting the road again.
