Mojave (2015)

There are many places you might think you'd find a serial killer, but the middle of the Mojave Desert probably isn't one of them, right? Unfortunately, that's what happens to Tom (Garrett Hedlund), a washed up Hollywood actor who finds his career—and fame—to be shallow and unfulfilling. So what does he do? He goes out to the desert to set up camp and think while his wife and daughter are in London, of all places. The thinking seems to be going relatively well until a stranger named Jack (Oscar Isaac) shows up unannounced, spewing literally quotes and throwing punches like nobody's business. Ultimately Tom escapes, but Jack follows him home to his palatial mansion, because what do you know? Jack is a serial killer, and Tom is now on his hit list. This is bad news for Tom, but it's also bad news for Tom's secret French mistress (played by Louise Bourgoin), who is kind enough to walk around in nothing but a bra and beige thong after spending some time in bed with him. Maybe trekking out to the desert doesn't solve as many problems as you thought, huh Tom?
