A woman of many names and many talents, adult-film star Merle Michaels was a hard-working actress in her heyday, completing no less than 50 hardcore projects in less than five years. Legend has it she started her naked career when her boyfriend showed her an ad for nude modeling he found in Screw magazine, earning extra bucks while attending college as a journalism major. She made her debut in the X-rated A Girl’s Best Friend (1978), co-starring Ron Jeremy, then switched up her name to Merril Townsend for the iconic Debbie Does Dallas (1978), where her pert bottom is pinked up by an old man with a slapping hand, she shows everything in a full-frontal and a full-back, and demonstrates some rather impressive oral skills (it’s a porn film, folks). In Babylon Pink (1979), the world gets an up close and personal look at the many layers of her treasure triangle, as well as her lovely breasts. Other memorable roles include Jolly in A Girl Like That (1979), credited as Amy Stone; Tiggy in Frat House Frolics (1979) as Marie James; a girl with sunglasses in Angie Police Women (1979) as Melissa Brown; a party participant in The Seduction of Cindy (1980) as Lee Stevens; a hopeful receptionist in Sweet Surrender (1980) as Barbi Swenson; Ellie Sue in Manhattan Mistress (1981) as Myrna Lamb; and in a whole lot of other movies as Merle Michaels, including Dolly Lee in The Love-In Arrangement (1981) and Betsy in Foxtrot (1982). She only made one film after 1982, playing Bunny in Sex Appeal in 1986, credited as Molly Morgan. Rumor has it she left to put that journalism degree into use in Montana.
