A jack-of-all-trades wanders from one end of NYC to another, stopping to help the many people he meets along the way. That's about all that happens in Hal Hartley's Meanwhile (2011), starring D.J. Mendel as Joe, who must walk from the bottom of Manhattan to the top because his bank accounts have been frozen. Along the way, he meets a struggling actress, a beautiful woman (Chelsea Crowe) contemplating suicide, and an assortment of other colorful characters.
