Born in 1941, this multi-hyphenated entertainer got her start as a cabaret singer before making her screen debut in Il Trovatore (1978). Although she's made her career mostly as a singer, Maria has also appeared in some notable roles over the years, including the gregarious Mama Gigliotti on the long-running series Pizza (2000-2007). But like the finest Italian wine, Maria waited until she was fully ripe before uncorking her cans at age 71 in Bathing Franky (2012). Mamma mia, those are some spicy meatballs!
