Hot and tempting Sweden-born sweetie Lena Nyman has been making movies in her native land since the mid '50s and continues filming to this day. But she'd be just another cold Swedish fish if it weren't for a pair of arthouse sex films that she starred in back in the swinging '60s. Alternately called "one of the most important pictures I have ever seen in my life" by Norman Mailer or "vile and disgusting" by Rex Reed, I Am Curious (Yellow) (1967) hit American shores like an invading army of perversion when it opened in 1969. It became the highest grossing foreign film release of its day. The explicit feature broke down the last vestiges of the Hollywood production code and paved the way for the mainstreaming of actual hardcore porn like Deep Throat (1972) and Caligula (1979). Lena really blew viewers' horns (among other things). She is far from the normal Hollywood sex kitten, a shapely and attractive beauty but not without flaws. She didn't have any problem with nudity, though, and there's plenty of it. She followed that up with I Am Curious (Blue) (1968)--the colors are from the Swedish flag. The rest of her career hasn't been as skinful, but that double-header of carnality gives her a special place of distinction in the Skin Central Hall of Fame. Color us hot.
