Catherine Frot’s portrayal of Marguerite, a woman so overtaken by the joy of singing that she doesn’t realize she’s terrible, is equal parts hilarious, devastating, and heartwarming. Except, people are coming in droves to take amusement in the disillusioned singer’s off-pitch tunes rather than any sort of talent.
