Lower City (2005)

A woman comes between a pair of best buddies in the Brazilian race conscious romance flick Lower City (2005). Naldinho (Wagner Moura) is a white dude who grew up with money, but became best buddies with his black maid's son Deco (Lazaro Ramos) back when they were kids. These days they're adults who live together and work together on a boat that carries cargo up and down Brazil's Northeast Coast. There's is a friendship forged over decades, so both are convinced nothing can come between them, especially not a woman. Except, when they pick up a hooker that's a looker named Karinna (Alice Braga) who's willing to exchange her goodies for their services, both catch feelings for her and aren't willing to share. So much for bros before hoes. She takes turns going black and going back, which has the two men at each other's throats while trapped on that small boat. Suddenly, they're bringing up bad stories from the past, being racist, and all sorts of other awful things in hopes that Karinna will choose them as the winner. But what's to say she's all that interested in either one of them? Alice's power over her two lovers in the film is as palpable as her grip will be on you, as you watch her electrify one sexually charged scene after another. From straddling Naldinho's nards to doing a bush and boob baring pole dance, all the way to riding on top of Deco's dick, Alice Braga is nearly constantly naked in this one. Her sweat covered sexuality is undeniably alluring, so you can't blame the buds for both wanting her. We'd dump all our lifelong besties for a chance to give those breasts a squeeze! Lower City will take you higher--and harder.
