Loser (2000)

College is where the chumps are separated from the rest of the herd and mocked mercilessly in a fashion intended to brand them for the rest of their lives as failures, of which there is a great demand in society after graduation. As much a keen-eyed dissection of misplaced prerogatives and a critique of intellectual corruption and moral complacency as it is a post-teen sex comedy, Loser (2000) arrives on the big-city campus with a heartland sensibility that despite--or because of--its skeptical outlook reaches an understanding of the unique American spirit that is ethically uplifting and intelligently optimistic. In short, the loser nice guy plays fair and wins the girl because he deserves her and she is wise enough to detect that he is her best choice. Knowing this conclusion going in will not ruin the movie for any openhearted viewer.
