Review

Laura Fraser is the daughter of concentration-camp survivors living in Antwerp in the '70s. Wait, it gets better. Her dad is looking for some luggage he hid from the Nazis decades ago, hence the title Left Luggage (1998). Laura ends up taking a job as a nanny for a family of Hasidic Jews. Now before you reach for a hearty gulp of Manischewitz to brace yourself through a long movie, along comes Heather Weeks. She'll leave you Weeks in the knee (and strong in other places) when she and Laura strip down to their furry yarmulke and fluffy latkes to skinny dip in the lake. Is it kosher? Consult the Talmud in your pants!
