Le Milieu du monde (1974)

Politics and the vagaries of love strike an uneasy balance in Le Milieu du monde (1974). Paul, an up-and-coming politician, falls in love with the waitress at a local café. As the relationship progresses, Paul's life is thrown into chaos. He must deal with an increasingly bitter wife as well as the leaders of his own party, who are indignant over his girlfriend's Italian origin. The Amazonian jungle has nothing over Olimpia Carlisi’s magnificent bush, which she displays early and frequently.
