Review

Dr. Briand is in charge of a leper colony in sixteenth-century France when a young woman, Marte-Blanche, is brought to him for treatment. He quickly discovers that she displays no signs of illness and manages in short time to fall in love with her. Le Mal D'Aimer (1986) takes a grim look at conditions in medieval France and becomes an effecting love story at the same time.
