When a wealthy patron dies under mysterious circumstances, his maid suspects foul play in the unpredictable Mexican thriller Las Cautivas (1973). Julissa stars as the observant attendant who develops suspicions about her employer’s shady widow (Fanny Cano). Blackmailing the woman to see how far she’ll get, the maid ends up turning the tables on the guilty woman, inverting the master/servant relationship so that she rules the roost. It’s unusual for Julissa to star in a feature without getting naked, but Cano picks up her slack, showing some chest in a deliciously drawn-out bed shot.
