Ah, to be young and French and beautiful during the sexual revolution. Paul and Vincent get to know Alice (Clotilde Courau) and Eve (Karin Viard) on the sunny Mediterranean during the 1970s. They mate, marry, break up, and, before it’s over, get back together again. Plenty of proto-feminist politics are on display in La Parenthèse enchantée (2000), along with a cornucopia of bare bushes and boobies, further proof that when it comes to affaires sexuelles, the French are light years ahead of everyone else.
