Javier Bardem plays a crotch-grabbing contractor who dedicates his life to women and the, ahem, erection of a giant skyscraper in the award-winning Spanish drama Huevos de oro (1993). Bardem’s Benito González believes he’s got the Golden Balls referenced in the film’s title; daydreaming of sex, money, and power, the contractor marries into wealth and immediately puts his assets to work constructing the most phallic building in the world. Things don’t work out quite as planned though. When a car accident leaves González paralyzed, he must chase skirts from the constraints of a wheelchair. It was a great run while it lasted, and Mr. Golden Balls will always have the memories of mammaries to savor. Maria de Medeiros and Maribel Verdú represent just two of González’s impressive conquests, both peeling off their lingerie to await that Midas touch.
