Hotel Chevalier (2007)

Wes Anderson achieved a career high with The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). In addition to winning a Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy and a BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay, the film brought him his first Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Picture. Of course, we’re not surprised since the auteur of twee had some practice with Hotel Chevalier (2007). The 13-minute movie serves as a prologue to The Darjeeling Limited (2007). This short film features Jason Schwartzman, who appeared in all of the aforementioned flicks as well as lending his talents to Anderson’s Rushmore (1998), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), Moonrise Kingdom (2012), Isle of Dogs (2018), The French Dispatch (2021), and Asteroid City (2023). Yet the best thing about Hotel Chevalier is skinematic tease Natalie Portman. She plays Rhett, who is estranged from Jack Whitman (Schwartzman). For the past month, he’s been living in a Parisian hotel to escape their relationship. Nevertheless, she tracks him down to put the X rated action into ex-girlfriend. As such, the petite powerhouse peels off her clothing. The skintastic move means we get to see her barely-there briefs. If that’s not arousing enough, Ms. Portman reveals her ripe rump! Breast of all, she shows off her bare chest when she poses by an armoire. Too bad Mr. Schwartzman covers Miss P’s T&A with his robe. At least, Mr. Anderson is more generous since he offered the whole short for free on iTunes. Needless to say, you’ll want to check in to this hotel!
