Hatchet (2006)

How does a horror flick top the slasher pics Saw (2004), Saw II (2005) and Saw  III (2006)? By calling itself Hatchet (2006) of course. Thanks to writer/director Adam Green, lovers of gore, handymen and fans of flesh will be very pleased since the movie marks a return to the graphic scenes of a more exploitative age, complete with gross-out humor to make it all go down delightfully. It is, after all, named after a tool so you know it’s got to be good. The story is classic as well, concerning a bunch of tourists who visit a spooky Louisiana swampland and fall victim to the hatchet man. Since the film was edited down from an NC-17 to an R rating, imagine the added value of the DVD and its cut scenes. While pondering that fabulous fact, take a look at what the censors permitted on the big screen. For starters, busty brunette Jenna (Joliegh Fioreavanti) reveals her natural rack while swapping Sapphic spit with topless blonde Misty (Mercedes McNab) at the 14-minute mark. If you missed the skintastic action, the gals pop their tops again just 15 minutes later. Suffice it to say, they add thrills to this thriller! The movie also includes Joel Moore, Deon Richmond, and Tamara Feldman (also known as Amara Zaragoza). Like the Saw franchise, this scary movie spawned the sequels Hatchet II (2010) and Hatchet III (2013). Since those releases, we’ve been waiting with masturbated breath for the next sexy installment.
