The Netflix adaption of Gerald's Game takes lesser known Stephen King novel, adds in Carla Gugino as our protagonist, and tasks horror direct Mike Flanagan with making magic - and magic he makes. What was a mostly internal-monologue driven film because wildly and wonderfully visual, as married couple Jessie (Gugino) and Gerald (Bruce Underwood) retreat to the woods for an isolated sexathon that goes terribly wrong when Gerald handcuffs Jessie to the bed and promptly dies of a heart attack. Jessie is left in her lingerie to attempt to free herself before she starves or is left to contend with her hallucinations and a hungry stray dog. Yikes! It's intense, but also intensely sexy, considering Carla is wearing sexy underwear for almost the entire film.
