Fiery-tressed Frances Fisher is known for portraying fierce women on stage, film and television. After homing her craft in New York theaters, the ambitious ingenue turned to daytime soaps—playing Detective Red Saxon on The Edge of Night (1976-1981) and Suzette Saxon on The Guiding Light (1985). Other TV shows (Strange Luck, The Lyon’s Den, Glory Days, Becker, Titus, Eureka) followed, as did a chance to move to movies. Frances was cast in Tough Guys Don't Dance (1987) and Frame Up (1991), but didn’t make her mark until she became a headstrong madam in the Oscar winning Western Unforgiven (1992) directed by Clint Eastwood.
