Think you have writer’s block, check out the character in the movie Distortion (2005). He’s a theater director with a new play to write, and since he’s not on Broadway but in Israel his distractions are suicide bombings and the normal stress and tension of the ongoing Intifada. That’s bad enough, but the problems of life and death are amplified by skin. Israel may be an ancient land, but you’d think they’d have some of the modern conveniences light lights. But the only nude scene in the movie is obscured by darkness. That’s the human toil to this terrible religious war.
