Mixing the work life and the private life is often a tempting proposition, but as shown in Desafinado (2001), the results can be aggravating. American fountains of testosterone Danny Aiello, George Hamilton, and Joe Mantegna are pitted against one another as a trio of singing sensations who had previously toured the globe to thunderous applause and financial remuneration as the three tenors. The partnership might have dissolved naturally, with no need for an uncomfortable reunion, except that one of the warblers is set to marry the daughter of one of his former harmonizers, and her mom is currently married to the other tenor who is not her dad. The entire film takes place in a single French villa, but the relationships would be claustrophobic even if everybody involved were being parachuted into the Grand Canyon.
