800 Bullets (2002)

Movies about stuntmen range from Richard Rush’s The Stunt Man (1980) to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019). In between, the R rated 800 Bullets (2002) can be seen. Also known as 800 balas, Álex de la Iglesia’s Spanish-language flick follows Julián Torralba (Sancho Gracia) who makes a living falling off of horses and out of hay lofts for American-funded Westerns shot on the Andalusian dirt. If injury or failing nerves don’t doom his employability, there is always the chance that U.S. filmmakers could pull up stakes and take their racket back to Hollywood. If so, how will Julián survive when both his livelihood and identity disappear in one fatal swoop? Clinging to sustenance and machismo, the trained daredevils of this comedy entertain stray tourists by defying death for a few dollars a day along a dusty stretch of abandoned film sets. If that’s not bad enough, a high-powered executive named Laura (Carmen Maura) wants to develop a tourist resort which threatens what dignity remains for Julián and his gang of stuntmen unless they push back. Even though the characters’ spirits may be low, the members on audiences members will be on the rise whenever Yoima Valdés is on camera. As sexy Sandra, the raven-haired hottie steams up the screen when she bares her breasts, bush and butt at the 39-minute mark. Later, the topless babe flashes her rack while in the sack. Needless to say, the arousing images in 800 Bullets will have you shooting your sex pistol!
