Der Menschenfresser (1993)

Even Hannibal Lecter might find himself a tad freaked by Der Menschenfresser (1993), a German chiller about a late-night encounter between a female crime novelist and an avowed cannibal. Irene Kugler stars as Rosa, a mystery writer who’s introduced to the curious, middle-aged Otto (Helmut Lorin) during a late-night train ride. Calmly threatening to devour her as soon as she falls asleep, Otto proceeds to spook poor Rosa nearly to death--her overactive imagination begins envisioning fleshy dinner parties and slaughterhouse hijinks that wouldn’t be out of place in Tobe Hooper’s Texas China Saw Massacre (1974). Naturally before Rosa--and foxy blonde victim Krista Birkner--can be devoured in the crime writer’s dreams, they have to strip naked and show off their lip-smackingly delicious bods.
