Crank (2006)

After tearing up the screen in the Transporter series, shaven-scalped action star Jason Statham ignites the high-octane blow-out Crank (2006) as an assassin who's been injected with a hyperactivity-inducing poison--if his heart-rate falls too far, he dies. A sort of Speed (1994) on speed, Statham is LA hitman Chev Chelios. He just bumped off Triad leader Don Kim (Keone Young), but the young gangster Ricky Verona (Jose Pablo Cantillo) thinks that hit sets up the perfect opportunity for him to kill Chelios, prevent the Triads from retaliating, and take his place as The City of Angel's go-to assassin. Looking to add a bit of style to his high end homicide, Ricky injects Chelios with a poison that will kill Chelios as soon as his adrenaline stops pumping, so the only way for him to survive is to do anything that will get his heart going. From picking fights and driving like a madman, to banging his girlfriend (Amy Smart) in the middle of Chinatown, Chelios has to find an antidote and get his revenge all while staying excited.
