Corpus Christi (2019)

Following Poland's cinematic breakthrough with the multiple-Oscar nominee Cold War (2018), the country found itself in the Oscar hunt once again the following year with Corpus Christi (2019)! Daniel (Bartosz Bielenia) is a repeat offender doing time yet again, having spent seemingly more time in a detention center than out of one in his short life. While back in the detention center, Daniel is struck by a spiritual awakening, unleashing a desire to become a preacher unlike any desire he's ever had in his life. However, his criminal record and checkered past prevent him from enrolling in seminary and pursuing his dreams in a standard and ethical way. Feeling compelled to preach the gospel and finding no other recourse to do so, he soon starts up his own parish in his small town, inciting a fever within the congregation that soon becomes contagious. Can Daniel maintain the ruse that he is actually an ordained minister or will his house of cards come crashing down around him? Of course, our preacher friend certainly has his problems with sinning as we see just nine minutes into the flick when he bangs Malwina Brych from behind and she bares her boobs and buns! Those habits of his rear their head once again an hour and twenty six minutes in when he beds the beautiful Eliza Rycembel, who bares her breasts while getting it missionary style from the missionary! With all this church-sanctioned nudity, Corpus Christi might just have you achieving enlightenment... with yourself!
