Close Quarters (2019)

The Mexican film Territorio, or Close Quarters (2019), takes a long and hard look at the notion of masculinity and how it can easily veer into the realm of toxicity. Manuel (Jose Pescina) works as a manager at a furniture factory and though his marriage to Lupe (Paulina Gaitán) is a relatively happy one, he has thus far been unable to give his wife the one thing she wants more than anything else: a child. Enlisting the help of a fertility doctor, the couple soon finds out that Manuel's sperm count is zero and unless they find a sperm donor, they'll never be able to conceive. Of course, that's an incredibly expensive proposition, leading Manuel to think outside the box. Enter Ruben (Jorge Jimenez), an employee of Manuel's who strikes his boss as the kind of macho man that might be able to solve his marital problems for no cost. Naturally, problems arise after Ruben inseminates Lupe, most of them involving the fact that Manuel is finding himself pushed out of the picture in his own marriage as Lupe begins to view the substantially more masculine Ruben as a better partner than her own infertile husband. Alright, so it's not a good time at the movies or anything, that much is obvious from the plot summary, but the flick does contain a trio of topless scenes from the gorgeous Paulina Gaitán! Any chance to peep the legendary peepers of the Diablo Guardian star is a chance worth taking, so maybe skip this depressing flick and fast forward to the good parts right here at Mr. Skin!
