Circle of Two (1981)

Young girls will never overcome their erotic fixations upon old guys. Therefore, films in the vein of Circle of Two (1981) will have a need to be made for as long as the genders exhibit any desire for one another. A fresh-faced, clear-eyed nymph of a female, such as dear and darling Tatum O’Neal, is attracted to the air of accumulated knowing, of jaded resignation, of innate hunger for nubile breasts that is exuded by an older man, in this case Richard Burton. Burton portrays an artist who encourages Tatum’s schoolgirlish infatuation for as long as her presence functions as a muse for his painting. When O’Neal crosses the line by barging fully naked into Burton’s studio, this Canadian production takes a turn for the weird.
