Charlie Says (2019)

Charlie Says (2019) is the latest in a long line of films about The Manson Family and the hypnotic effect Charles Manson had over his followers, this time from the writer/director team of Guinevere Turner and Mary Harron (American Psycho, The Notorious Bettie Page). Overshadowed by Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) which came out just a few months later, the conceit here is that the film centers around three of Charlie's followers as a cult expert tries to deprogram them while they're stuck in jail. Showing how these average American girls could fall under the spell of a failed musician like Manson, played here by former Doctor Who and House of the Dragon star Matt Smith, the film jumps through a bunch of different time periods. Leslie "Lulu" Van Houten (Hannah Murray), Susan "Sadie" Atkins (Marianne Rendón), and Patricia "Katie" Krenwinkel (Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick) are the lost souls stuck in the slammer for their roles in the Tate and LaBianca murders. The story flashes back to the ladies' initial meetings with Manson, and we see things play out until they're eventually driven to murder for him. With all due respect to the real life cultists, these girls are so much hotter than the ladies of the actual Manson fam. In fact, they're hot as Hell-ter skelter! The film is chock full of nudity, with Hannah Murray and several others going topless on film for the very first time! Julia Schlaepfer goes full frontal just fifteen minutes into the film while the crew dance around a fire, and Man, that bodies is fire, son! Kayli Carter gives us a peeky as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, when she flashes her funbags just eight minutes later! We'd like to make the mattress springs squeak with her! From squeaky to cheeky, Hannah Murray strips down in front of Manson and we see her boobs and buns, but the best scene comes when Manson makes Dayle McLeod, Kayli Carter, and Marianne Rendón all show their breasts while he sings. I guess these ladies understand the rules of the game "Charlie Says"!
