Brewster McCloud

Brewster McCloud (1970)

Brief Nudity

Review

Robert Altman’s black comedy Brewster McCloud (1970) features Bud Cort in the title role. The ensemble cast includes frequent Altman collaborators such as Shelley (3 Women, Popeye) Duvall, Michael (Nashville, Kansas City) Murphy, René (McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Player) Auberjonois, and John (M*A*S*H, Thieves Like Us) Schuck as well as Jennifer Salt, Marilyn Burns, Margaret Hamilton, and Stacy Keach. Borrowing themes and imagery from The Wizard of Oz (1939), this quirky fantasy tells the story of an introverted young man who lives in a fallout shelter below the Houston Astrodome. If that’s not bizarre enough, McCloud dreams of constructing wings so he can make his body fly above the clouds. With the help of some friends and a guardian angel, his day finally arrives. But will it be everything Brewster dreamed? As the dude builds his winged appendages, you may find your appendage growing thanks to views of Louise (Sally Kellerman) in the nude. Yes, the svelte stunner sheds her threads for the lens! We’re happy to report Ms. Kellerman can be seen sans shirt in a couple of scenes. At first she teases us with some side boob, but then delivers the full rack attack when she goes for a skinny-dip in a fountain. The arousing act is inspired by the famous bit of busty babe Anita Ekberg in the Federico Fellini classic La Dolce Vita (1960). In other words, as Sally splashes around in the water with her breasts on display, the fountain won’t be the only thing erupting!
