Believers (2007)

A pair of paramedics gets an emergency call that lands them deep in cult-ure shock in Believers (2007), a scary psych-out chockfull of characters like "Cult Goon," "Cult Nanny," and "Cult Medic AKA Pill Guy." Johnny Messner and Jon Huertas are the unlucky EMTs who find themselves called to a remote gas station where a woman is having trouble breathing. Once there, they learn that the woman and her daughter have escaped from a wacko pack that believes the end of the world is nigh. The sect summarily kidnaps Jon and Johnny for to wash their brains but good, hauling them off to a secret compound cheerily decorated with spooky symbols and paeans to numerology. Speakers spit strange speech into the halls, experiments happen behind the walls, and a guru named The Teacher (Daniel Benzali) instructs his flock of unlucky ducks in the three R’s: R-mageddon, R-mageddon, and R-mageddon! Will Jon and Johnny escape before the mass self-snuffings are under way, or will they fall under the spell of the believers?
