A man's elderly father has two shocking revelations to share in Beginners (2011). Oliver (Ewan McGregor) isn’t sure which one is more devastating- the news that his father Hal (Christopher Plummer) has terminal cancer, or that he knew he was gay throughout his 46-year marriage to Oliver’s mother.
