Ararat (2002)

Director Atom Egoyan takes on the Armenian holocaust in this complex and moving depiction of the tragedy that occurred in Turkey and Armenia during the early years of the twentieth century. A film within a film, Ararat (2002) looks at how the life of a young man is changed forever by working on a documentary of the holocaust. Dense and complicated, the shifting perspectives require patience and a sharp eye. But to lighten things up, there’s a marvelous ride-'em-cowgirl scene with Marie-Josée Croze exposing her delicious danglers.
