Arabian Nights (1974)

Following The Decameron (1971) and The Canterbury Tales (1972), legendary auteur Pier Paolo Pasolini concludes his Trilogy of Life series with Arabian Nights (1974). Also known as Il fiore delle mille e una notte (which means The Flower of the One Thousand and One Nights), this X-rated flick promises a happy ending to audience members! Don’t worry if you can’t speak Arabic or Italian, the graphic action knows no borders as the fantasy follows Nur-e-Din (Franco Merli) on his quest to save a slave girl named Zumurrud (Ines Pellegrini). Needless to say, she has gained Nur-e-Din’s heart along with another part of his anatomy. Based on the Middle Eastern fables “One Thousand and One Nights” from the 16th century, the screenplay farcically interweaves a bunch of tales about fornication to create a skinematic tapestry that celebrates life and lust. The latter applies to Ms. Pellegrini who repeatedly reveals her rack, rump and muff in the movie. Not to be upstaged, Barbara Grandi exposes her gams and mams when in bed with a dude. Soon after, the damsel in distress (and out of dress) displays her naked T&A when she’s be-handed. Ouch! Throughout the course of the film, we’re treated to salacious views of Abadit Ghidei’s hoots and glutes as well as Elisabetta Genovese’s nude boobs and pubes. If that’s not erotic enough, Luigina Rocchi’s body double goes full frontal! Considering the comely cast’s nudity, we can understand why these Arabian babes will have you staying up for One Thousand and One Nights!
