A psychiatric patient is tormented by the legacy of his tyrannical late mother in the low-budget horror vehicle A Light in the Darkness (2002). Matt Terzian stars as Taylor Melnick, a committed only child with a twisted Oedipal complex to rival Norman Bates. While his scheming uncle (Geoffrey Lewis) and liquored-up housekeeper (Troy Beyer) add tinder to the flames, Melnick lashes out in a futile attempt to put his demons forever to rest. Of course, with psycho mom out of the picture, it might be wise for Taylor to try cultivating some more healthy female relationships; housekeeper Kira Hansen (Beyer) is often on the sauce, but her flaws pale next to the vibrant body she showcases during a shower-time binge-drinking scene.
